- Cannot breathe comfortably through your nose
- Have nasal congestion, a cold, sinus problems, or an ear infection
- Have consumed alcohol or sedatives
- Feel nauseous or unwell
- Cannot remove the strip yourself without assistance
- Have broken, irritated, or inflamed skin around the mouth
